About a month ago, my automotive dreams came true.

After months and months of searching, I finally found my dream car. Was it a Tesla, you ask? A Ferrari? A Mercedes-Benz? No. My dream car was never one of that supercilious sort. My dream car has always been a good old-fashioned Jeep.

Her name is Eva. Her full registered name is a white 2007 Jeep Liberty. Originally I thought I might name her Stormy, or maybe Trooper, given the fact that she vaguely resembles a Stormtrooper, but that name just didn’t sit right. After a while I just kept calling her “The Jeep” which isn’t nearly specific enough. So, her name became Eva.

She’s tiny enough to fit into parking spots at the local Trader Joes, but large enough to pull off a proper road trip or cram a hanging egg chair from Marshalls in the back to deliver to my best friend’s house. She’s photogenic enough to fit into literally any landscape. Beach? Check. Mountains? Check. Middle of nowhere in the desert? Check.

Let’s talk the critical stuff: music. There are secret buttons behind the steering wheel that can control the radio stations and volume. How cool is that?!

The only downside to this situation is that there’s no aux cord to blast music from my phone. Hopefully, I’ll find some sort of Bluetooth technology situation to amend this at a later date.

In the last month of cruising this dear little Jeep around, I’ve compiled a list of ways to make your car live up to its coziest potential:

  • keep a cozy blanket and pillow stuffed in the back for whatever situation might arise: the drive-in theatre, cold mornings on the way to work, emergency picnics, insulating fragile things like a newly-acquired kitten, etc.
  • in the driver door, tuck some hand sanitizer, lotion, and wipes. If you tend to go for pedicures regularly, a pair of flip-flops in the passenger side comes in handy too.
  • use the glove box to store a kit with pads, band aids, tissues, lip balm, and gum.
  • keep sunglasses within reach at all times
  • decorate your dashboard with a polaroid or a handwritten quote
  • find bumper sticker/car tattoos: show your college pride with a sticker, along with some aesthetic ones like a moon maybe 🌙

With that, I wish you many classy road-trip adventures of your own. May you be as enamored with the little things of life as I currently am with this darling little car.

Peace, love, and granola from your dearest Jeep-loving blogger,
